This elegant barrette is hand sculpted in finest quality, musical instrument grade, jet-black Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) from Africa.  I then add a stunning Tibetan turquoise gemstone in an elegant hand-made sterling silver sun setting. The labradorite sits a full 3/8 inch above the surface of the barrette, is easily viewable from all sides, and has a lovely ocean blue color.

Size: Large approx. 3 3/4" size of clip: 80mm / 3 1/4" The most commonly used barrette size. Will work well for most hair types.

Ebony, famous for its rich jet-black color, has been used in the finest furniture and musical instrument making for centuries. It's one of the world's most prized and expensive hardwoods!

Our barrettes are gallery quality. We use AAA premium materials: the world's finest sustainably sourced exotic and domestic hardwoods, precious metals and gem grade gemstones. Each piece is lovingly hand crafted one at a time in our northern Michigan studio.

We've been making wood barrettes for over 20 years. Our wooden barrettes are all made from SOLID wood.  **Never a thin layer of veneer over a cheaper base wood**
They are screwed not glued to the made in France clips for a strong, durable, mess free joint.

Barrette clips vary quite a bit in quality. I use only the highest quality French Barrette Clips on all my barrettes. They have proven themselves over time to be the best available.
